Food Can Affect Our Thoughts

So you are eating all this processed food or better known as dead food and you expect to get nutrition. WRONG! Processed food has been chemically processed and made solely from refined ingredients and artificial substances. These foods are loaded with added sugar or high fructose corn syrup which when consumed in excess can be very harmful.

Highly processed foods often contain:

• Preservatives: Chemicals that prevent the food from rotting.
• Colorants: Chemicals that are used to give the food a specific color.
• Flavor: Chemicals that give the food a particular flavor.
• Texturants: Chemicals that give a particular texture.

Here is just one example of an amino acid you lack with processed food: Tryptophan is the key ingredient in serotonin, which regulates your mood. So without it, it can lead to depression. Tryptophan is found naturally in raw high protein foods such as gogi berries, spirulina, chlorella, cacao, maca root, blue-green algae and other raw foods. Through cooking, tryptophan is destroyed. It is very sensitive to heat. People taking anti-depressant medications continue to rise in this country. So get rid of that sluggish feeling that can lead to you feeling grouchy and negative by simply changing your diet. Eating responsibly can make a huge difference! What do you have lose? Try it and see for yourself!
