Eat Well Macaroons Raw Dessert

Raw Vs Not: Chocolate Macaroons

Raw v Not Chocoalate Macaroons

With the holidays coming there are more temptations to back to our previous eating habits, if even for just a little while. I will be doing a series called Raw vs Not where I will compare some of the foods that you can have raw versus other options.

For today’s comparison I went to a local grocery store’s bakery. Their ingredients were not as bad as Mother’s Cookies but I picked where I thought someone would go to grab macaroons for a party. In the Raw world we eat organic when we can and the best of the best. Enriched Flour is flour that was already stripped of it’s nutrients and then they add back in some vitamins. Doesn’t sound healthy.

And if you are curious what Mother’s Cookies has in their Macaroons, here is the list: Bleached and Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Riboflavin [Vitamin B2], Folic Acid), Sugar, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/or Cottonseed Oil, Coconut, Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate [Vitamin B1], Riboflavin [Vitamin B2] Folic Acid), Contains Two Percent or less of Whey Protein Concentrate, Salt, Artificial Flavor, Leavening (Monocalcium Phosphate, Baking Soda), Yellow #5, Egg, Yellow #6, Corn Syrup, Soy Lecithin. Contains Wheat, Milk, Egg and Soy may Contain Peanuts and Tree Nuts.

I love the Raw Food Lifestyle.
