Love

This Thing Called “LOVE”

I think we would all agree that this world would be a better place if we all learned to truly love one another. This would mean getting rid of all prejudices and stereotypes. God is love. He loved us before we were even born. He commands us to love him and love our neighbors as ourselves. What could that possibly look like? Love starts with loving yourself only then can you share it with others. To accept oneself, is to love oneself. This means the good and the bad.

Love is a chemical state of mind that’s part of our genes and influenced by our upbringing. Love is the purest emotion and is the highest level of energy that exists. Layers of other emotions can actually override the feeling of love. Love is the force that will not only pull you to that which you love but will also pull that which you love to you.

Biologically, love is a powerful neurological condition like hunger or thirst, only more permanent. We have no control over it. Everyone has a desire to be loved and to naturally feel the feelings that accompany love. Supply love like oxygen, and the love feelings will follow. We must show love through actions that are sincere, not through empty words.

What does love even look like? Love does not seek its own desires, it looks to fulfill the needs of others. We all battle with inward selfishness and our culture teaches us that more is better, more for ourselves that is. Don’t think about what you want to receive and start giving love to others. Ignite their love feelings and see what happens. Make love a habit, you cannot spread love onto others and not receive it yourself.
