I would recommend a Vita-mix or any high powered blender. Vitamix has come down a lot in price. I have seen them in Costco and Bed Bath and Beyond. You can even get refurbished ones on their site. I like to use my blender for my green juices because I depend on the fiber to keep me full until lunch. Of course, good knives, juicer, food processor, dehydrator, other kitchen utensils and spiral vegetable slicer can be gradually added.
